Belgium in Brief - Driving in Belgium - History of Belgium
Blessed with two medieval centres, the Markt and the Burg, the town also houses some of the country's most compelling art collections.
Not just for European politicians, Brussels is an enchanting spot with cobbled alleys which all seem to link like a maze and then deliver you to the magnificent Grand Place with its pavement cafes and warm, friendly restaurants.
Do yourself a favour, get into the backstreets of Brussels and see a truly picturesque side of this splendid town. Antwerp is not a place on everyone's lips but very much deserves to be; the old and the new blend so wonderfully and you simply have to marvel at the mix of Art Nouveau mansions and the medieval castles. Once again the backstreets hold an enormous amount of charm and fail to disappoint.
