Madrid is both interesting and lively, a place where a good night out can easily spill into the early hours. Eat, drink and be merry could easily be Madrid's motto.

During the daytime you could visit the Museo del Prado which is a wonderful art museum or just soak up the lively atmosphere of the many plazas which are a must-see during the day or the evening.

If Barcelona is your destination then welcome to a very stylish, dynamic and lively city. Admire the wonderful architecture or get serious about fashion, food, music or whatever is your passion - you will find it all here. Be sure to cover this great city on foot as there is a feast for your eyes around every corner and don't miss the city's fabulous medieval quarter, Barri Gòtic.

Valencia is Spain's third largest city and is also the capital of the province of the same name. One of Valencia's most talked about attractions is the baroque Palacio del Marqués de Dos Aguas. The facade is extravagantly sculpted and the inside is just as staggering. The Museo de Bellas Artes is one of the best museums in the country and contains works by El Greco, Goya, Velázquez and a number of Valencian impressionists.

The Instituto Valenciano Arte Moderno (modern arts) houses an impressive collection of 20th-century Spanish art. Attracting around four million visitors a year, Ciudad de las Artes y de las Ciencias is a huge complex devoted to sciences and the arts that is easily the city's most popular attraction.

Valencia's cathedral should also be on your to-do list. Climb to the top of its tower for a great view of the sprawling city around you.
